In the House of Representatives...

As of Thursday, Sept. 30, the last major actions in the House included sending H.Res.81, a resolution "to provide an extension of highway, highway safety, motor carrier safety, transit, and other programs funded out of the Highway Trust Fund pending enactment of a law reauthorizing the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century," to the President for signing. The Ways and Means Committee meets on Monday, Oct. 4 to discuss H.R.4520, the "American Jobs Creation Act of 2004."

In the Senate...

As of Monday, Oct. 3, the Senate resumes consideration of S.2845, the Intelligence Reform Bill. The last major actions included the passing of S.2273, a bill sponsored by John McCain to provide increased rail transportation security. Upcoming committee meetings include the Armed Services Committee, Wednesday, Oct. 6, to hold hearings to examine the report of the Special Advisor to the Director of Central Intelligence for Strategy Regarding Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction Programs.
