The House of Representatives

As of Monday, Sept. 20, the last major actions in the House included the introduction of �H. Res. 777, a resolution expressing the sense that there should be established a National Weatherization Day to recognize the need for reducing home energy costs, particularly for low-income families, through the use of conservation technologies.

The Senate

As of Monday, Sept. 20, the Senate resumes consideration of H.R. 4837, the Military Construction Appropriations bill for FY 2005. The last major action included the introduction of S.Con.Res.137, a concurrent resolution calling for the suspension of Sudan's membership on the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. Upcoming committee meetings include the Joint Economic Committee, Wednesday, Sept. 22, to hold hearings to examine expanding consumer choice and addressing "adverse selection" concerns in health insurance.
